What You Tell Us

Senior Connects has received over a thousand emails phone calls, and letters, thanking us for our program. And THANKS so very much for letting us know!

First, here is a sample of some of the letters that we have received from the independent and assisted living facilities and secondly, excerpts from some of the emails that we’ve received from individuals.

---------------

“Thank you so much for your help and consideration of The Harrison Retirement Community for your good works. We are so impressed with your organization and sharing that you and your team have shown by volunteering your expertise, and most importantly, your time, in helping seniors become computer and Internet literate. Your attitude and initiative that you have displayed to us will take you far.”

- Ms. Tracy Cornforth from The Harrison

---------------

“Thank you…and the residents here at Summit Place West would also like to Thank You.”

- Mrs. Wagner at Summit Place West

--------------

“Our residents are so excited about having a computer at their disposal…and has brought many smiles! We also have a computer class started by one of our residents who is very computer savvy. He was very excited with the delivery! So pat yourselves on the back, what you are doing is a wonderful community service and is greatly appreciated!”

- Ms. Dana Huffman at Bethany Village

-------------

“On behalf of Crestwood Assisted Living and Independent Apartments, Thank You for the three computers…what a great program!”

- Kimberly Thomas at Crestwood Village

-------------

“We greatly appreciate your kindness.”

- Michael Clancy at The Sugar Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation and The Chateau at Sugar Creek Assisted Living

-------------

“Thank you so much for the donation of your time and knowledge. We have received our computer and are excited about the upcoming learning process for our residents. Seniors connects sounds like it is on a path of teaching “kids” to give back to their community. Our residents are very enthusiastic about the upcoming training and we look forward to continuing our relationship with you. Again, we truly appreciate this outreach.”

- Ms. Janice Franklin at El-Beulah Retirement Village

-------------

“What a wonderful program you and your colleagues have offered to our seniors. I look forward to giving them the opportunity to learn something new, and giving their families a chance to email their loved ones. We intend to put our computers to use right away! Keep up the hard work. It is appreciated by so many.”

- Ms. Dana Criss at Altria Senior Living

-------------

“Words are inadequate to thank you and your group for the generous gift of the computer. Your timing of the gift was great because here at Jackson-Peoples, we are in the process of implementing a networking computer lab for the senior citizens that reside here. Sincere thanks and continue to bless others as you have blessed us.”

- Ms. Deborah Saffold at Jackson-Peoples Senior Living Center

-------------

“We are very excited about getting started!! Thank you so much for helping enhance the daily lives of our residents. I foresee a whole new world opening up via the computer for many of them. (Known fact: We never lose the desire to learn. Learning validates our self worth to the community and ourselves). Again, may God Bless your program and all those that are involved in the program.”

- Ms. Sandy Creek at Sunrise Senior Living

--------------

“I wanted to say thank you from all the residents and myself at Miller’s Senior Living Community. We had no idea that dedicated folks like you were doing such wonderful things for our seniors. Our residents will look forward to using the computer!

- Mr. Greg Gormal

Keep up all of the great work that you and your friends are doing. Dmmazzie@___.com

I have 4 computer monitors, several keyboards, 2 printers - a color inkjet and a fast laserjet, along with some other odd computer related equipment left over from a business I am shutting down. All of this material works, it just needs a good home. Can your organization use it? Jdrardin?@___.com

Hello,

I just read about your program in Not-For-Profit News. You are providing an outstanding service! I have an older friend who lives at Robin Run Village on the city’s Westside. She would love to be able to use the internet but needs someone to teach her. I think also that there would be more at Robin Run who would be interested in the classes. Could you tell me if you currently have a program at RR? If not, do you have a telephone number where someone could be reached to discuss bringing the program there? I request the telephone number because my friend is, of course, not internet/email savvy yet! jdobson@___.com

I would like to be able to talk to you or someone on the phone RE: computer lessons. I saw this in the paper. I am a senior female. I do need some help.

Thank you, God Bless Marimaas65@___.net

The Indy Star had a great article on your organization! That is a great way to bridge the generation gap between the young and old, and build a service mentality in our youth. I am interested in having my 70 year old mother-in-law get some PC user training and get a computer. She presently resides in Kokomo and I wanted to know if you have any volunteers in that area? In addition, I would like to purchase a used PC for her after taking some classes. Does your group offer used PC's to purchase?
Thank you for your time and assistance. ejwallner@___.com

Keep up the good work, your parents should be very proud of what you have done for and with senior citizens. indygirl@___.com

Dear Gentlemen,

My wife saved the article from The Star of 2-3 weeks ago. We have a computer which we would like to donate, if you can use it. We erased its hard drive (or at least attempted to do so) when I bought a replacement. If you can use it, let me know how to get it to you and it is yours: CPU, speakers, mouse, keyboard, &c. Just no monitor. Thanks. schleppers@___.net

I was very impressed when I read about your
organization. Although I am not a student (and haven't
been for a very long time!), I'd be interested in
helping out. I have quite a bit of experience teaching
computer skills, and frankly, never thought about
connecting with senior living facilities. It's
inspirational to read about someone who saw a need and
filled it. murnkem@___.com
